Bettina is lively and loves intense colors. She chose "Fire" as her theme.
Her own creation is a mixture of many different materials.
Beatrice chose materials for her block that she had never worked with before in quilts, like wool and organza.
Ines let this Phoenix rise from its ashes. She received compliments for her block not only from us, but also from her son who found this "rocket bird" really cool :-)
Susanne E. made this vibrant Orange or Fire Lily, a European species of the lily family.

Sabine chose a tilted square-in-a-square to form this vortex of fire.
This erupting volcano with burning lava flows was Susanne's interpretation of the theme. She used angelina and metallic threads to emphasize the vibrant batik fabric.
Renate created this romantic fire at the beach under a starry sky. The logs were made from shoelaces, by the way.
Kerstin stitched this fire-breathing dragon. In her endless stash she found just the right fabric for the dragon's head. For the fire, she experimented with several materials and finished the design with dots of gold paint.
(Anke)
Anke created the blistering sun for Bettina's book. She positioned wool on the background fabric and quilted the flames. Tulle and organza were added, then everything was quilted. She used a heat gun afterwards to add texture to the surface. Painted tyvek and lots of beads and sequins perfected her fancy design.
